The 11th OWL: Experiences and Directions Workshop (OWLED) !!New deadline, July 30th!!

17th – 18th October 2014, Riva del Garda, Italy

The aim of the OWL: Experiences and Directions Workshop (OWLED) is to establish an international forum for the OWL community, where practitioners in industry and academia, tool developers and others interested in OWL can describe real and potential applications, share experience and discuss requirements for language extensions/modifications. OWL has become the representational model of choice for supporting interoperability in many industries. This has been made possible thanks also to the development of numerous OWL reasoning systems that efficiently deal with both intensional (ontologies) and extensional (data) query answering. In this edition we aim to bridge the gap with the reasoner evaluation community and welcome the submission of papers describing challenging ontologies and or tasks to be represented in OWL and processed by OWL reasoners. It also welcomes proposals for improving the OWL 2 standard. This year, OWLED will take place on October 17th and 18th 2014, just before ISWC 2014 at the Riva del Garda Fieracongresso, Riva del Garda, Italy. As usual, the workshop will try to encourage participants to work together and will give space for discussions of various topics as well as having presentation of submissions.

PRELIDA Consolidation and Dissemination workshop

17th – 18th October 2014, Riva del Garda, Italy

PRELIDA (PREserving LInked DAta) project targets the particular stakeholders of the Linked Data community, including data providers, service providers, technology providers and end user communities. These stakeholders have not been traditionally targeted by the Digital Preservation community, and are typically not aware of the digital preservation solutions already available. So an important task of PRELIDA is to raise awareness of existing preservation solutions and to facilitate their uptake. At the same time, the Linked Data cloud has specific characteristics in terms of structuring, interlinkage, dynamicity and distribution, that pose new challenges to the preservation community. PRELIDA organise in-depth discussions among the two communities to identify which of these characteristics require novel solutions, and to develop road maps for addressing the new challenges. During this workshop, we will present the findings of the PRELIDA project. Every attendant will have the opportunity to actively participate, discuss and analyze the presented findings for scientific and technological validity, industrial, economic and societal impact, and levels of payoff compared to potential risks, as well as to identify important issues that might have been overlooked.
More information about the workshop can be found here: http://prelida.eu/consolidation-workshop
Registration is open until Friday, September 19, 2014!
